Webhosting choices abound. What does MiamiTom recommend?
I've tried many webhosting solutions. Racked solutions, shared hosting, private hosting, and all manner of configurations. I tried GoDaddy and several others.
"But what about GoDaddy?" While GoDaddy is my favorite REGISTRAR - a great place to register your domain name, but GoDaddy webhosting sucks. Yes, it works. It does what is advertised. However, it's the difference between a filet mignon and a hamburger. GoDaddy belongs in the McDonald's class. It's got a horrible management interface, making real management a pain in the ass.
Yes, I've heard of several others. FatCow, 1&1,Network Solutions, and others.
For shared hosting, Bluehost works great ,they use cpanel control panel, a great web server control panel. I can see they designed their system for webhosting, not for programmers, and yet, if you are coder, you will see how they fixed up the stuff you usually have to go in and "fix" - so your time is maximized. They've contributed back to Open Source MySQL development, so their databases run more efficiently.
